HP Universal Print PCL5 Driver 2.5.1.3 Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003.

The Universal Print Driver (UPD) is a single driver with a standard interface that enables a user to find and print to HP PCL5 and PostScript emulation printers. It was designed to allow corporate users and the IT department to rely on one driver rather than many. The UPD is simple to use, manage, and configure for basic corporate and mobile printing. Printer selection is done within the HP Universal Print Driver application rather than in the initial File Print dialogs.

  • From any Windows application, select File menu, then Print command.
  • In the Print dialogue box, select the Printer Name 'HP Universal Printing PCL 5' or 'HP Universal Printing PS', then click OK.
  • Now, enter the IP address (or hostname or UNC pathname) of the target printer through the HP UPD dialog, then click OK. The job is sent to the destination printer.
